The song lasts three minutes and thirty three seconds, the pace of the music video is slow in the beginning and at two minutes, fourteen seconds the song becomes upbeat. The meaning of the song is not necessarily about love yet it could be about friendship, but also needing to move on, however there is a narrative and that is that there has been a heartbreak along the course of the relationship. The content of the song includes three verses as well as three choruses, plus the imagery is of loneliness and at the same time emptiness.

The song suggests many things, but the first two lines of the first verse says "Nobody ever knows" "Nobody ever sees" Both lines implies that he would prefer to keep to himself about the situation he is in right now, therefore he keeps his emotions locked away and also probably puts a brave smile on his face to cover up. Then going onto the chorus where he talks about "Most nights I hardly sleep when I'm alone," indicates that he has became restless along with his thoughts always being about that one special person that he cares for. The chorus is also just repeated two more times after the second and third verse; there are words that constantly get repeated which is "Please Don't Go." This tells us that the guy is desperately pleading for forgiveness and if there is still hope in them lasting with each other possibly forever. Going onto the second verse the quote "I'll wanna take it back and start again" this connotation is that the person singing the song has either been through this or has seen someone else go through hard times, due to them causing the issue to begin in the first place. However, they are sorry and willing to resolve the problem. In the third verse as well as the last it says "I gotta figure out what am I missing babe!" "Figure out" demonstrates that the gut is confused without the girl and needs her to help him along the way otherwise will there be anything worth living for. "What am I missing babe!" shows that he is questioning her if she thinks the same thing which is about getting back together. In addition, the exclamation hints that he has no more strength in him to fight for the relationship so he gave all his strength away in questioning the girl to get a reply from her.

Lastly, our final idea is that we will actually show a narrative in our music video, due to the fact that Joel Adams did not really have a story in his video yet he did have a story within the lyrics, hence ours will be the complete opposite to his as we will illustrate the lyrics. How we plan on doing the video is with a few long, wide and close up shots of the singer being surrounded by crowds of people in a vast range of locations where there will be contrast between the public compared to the singer who is feeling lost amongst everyone.
